Beetle
Here's something else I almost stepped on. I found this little guy on the driveway. He wasn't moving very fast. In fact he wasn't moving at all. Poor little thing was dead when I found him. I didn't realize that until after I'd shot this photo (and a couple others from different angles). I was all impressed that he wasn't camera-shy at all.

Friday Harbor Waterfront
I went out to the west side this evening to try to catch the lighthouse with the sunset and spent a good 45 minutes shooting different exposures and lens zoom settings. All for naught. None of them looked good enough to post (or even to keep for that matter), so I went down to Spring Street Landing and shot this instead. Oh the moon was beautiful tonight! I wish I had a lens that could pull it in closer! But for now, this wide-angle of the waterfront will do.

Gig Night
Another gig tonight so not a whole lot of time for shooting photos. But I did get a quick shot of our stage before the show. We played at the Rumor Mill tonight. And after a bit of processing in Photoshop, here's my photo for the day.

Electric Footwear
These shoes are rarin' to go. So much they're leaping off the chair. They don't want to go for a walk, they want to go for a run. I wonder what would happen if I plugged them in?
(Thanks Michael Cruz for the inspiration on this one).

Too Bad About That View
Yesterday was the first day of Spring. But today was the first nice day of Spring. It was gorgeous! This is a pond just off someone's driveway where I delivered a package today and it looked so nice I just had to stop and snap a quick photo. Wouldn't it be nice to have this view on a daily commute?

Vernal Equinox
Is it just me or am I starting to sound like a broken record here...? Another day with crazy weather: wind, rain, hail, sun, snow... you name it, we had it today. (well except for "warm and sunny"). But yeah pretty wild. Looked out the in the backyard this afternoon and saw swirling hail and snow. But - Today is the day that light defeats darkness... from here on out, the days are longer than the nights!

More Blossoms
Little pink jobs. It's one of those days where I just happened to whip out the camera and shoot these on a tree in a neighbor's front yard on my way home from work, and it's a good thing too. Because here it is Late O-clock already and this is all I got for the day.

Strings and Frets
We had our first gig of the season last night and my head was all over that. Consequently I missed my first day of daily photos for the year. So now the pressure is off. Kinda like that first scratch on a new car. Any more after this will not be such a big deal. I knew it would happen sooner or later, but I was kinda banking on "later". But no worries - we had a great time last night. And besides - I'll probably find some way to slide a photo in there for yesterday at some point so as to avoid any holes in my 365 ;-)

Cherry Blossoms
Walking home from town tonight just after sunset, we saw this cherry tree illuminated by the street lamp above it. Seems like it's still Winter, but Spring is just around the corner. Can't believe we're half-way through March already!

Sticker Bushes
I didn't know what to call these things - but they're kinda like sticker bushes so I guess that works. With the change to daylight savings time, I saw these on the drive out to band practice for the first time tonight. Usually, I've been getting there after dark and driving past these without knowing they were there, but today I got this surprise on the driveway in the last bit of daylight.

Sunset Channel
Another day with a lot of different weather - Sun, rain, hail, snow and then a beautiful sunset over our island on the ferry ride home. This girl and her little brother were diggin' on the cool sea breeze blowing through their hair as daylight faded.

Glass
Whoa - late night. My first missed day of daily photos this year. But you know what? It doesn't count. Because it's not like I got up this morning at 12:01 or anything. No, I just got home from vacation and got up late. Now I'm going to bed late but I'm posting a photo before that. So really- I haven't missed a day yet. This is a light that hung over our table at a restaurant, but I turned it upside down to make it look different.

Cheating Death
Well it's all over and now it all seems like a dream. As my dad would say, "We cheated death once again", and I have to agree because I don't much like flying. After our flight and before our our shuttle to the ferry, we got a bite near the airport at the "Bent Prop Bar" and this is what their ceiling looked like.
Anyways - we're home and the place looks great. Thank you Yvette for watching our place while we were gone! It sure put us at ease knowing you were here!

Altaholics Anonymous
We did Alta again today. I even returned my souvenir Snowbird hoody and got myself an Alta one instead. TJ, Cody, Courtney, and anyone else in their late teens or twenties who is reading this - hear me well: Abandon any silly notions you may have of careers or higher education or marriage and family... Find yourself a job at a ski area begin a new life as a ski bum. You'll never regret it. You can always do all that other stuff later.

Alta
Alright so we've been having fun all week so far and yeah this place is fun and snowbird is cool and all that yada yada yada stuff.
But...
Wow. Alta. WOW! OMG! We crossed over to the other side and stepped into a new world today. I recommend you save your money. If you can't save any money, spend money you don't have. Charge it on plastic. Borrow from a friend - anything. Just go experience Alta for yourself. It is truly heaven on earth. Here's a quick shot of one of the forks in the road. Look at the signs - Which way do you think I turned?

The Cliff Lodge
This is my favorite spot in the building where we're staying and I've shot quite a few photos here including Sunday's photo (I think). Anyway today I did a 360 panorama with photosynth, but you have to go here to see it in all it's technological splendor: http://photosynth.net/view/c079b33a-deea-4413-a9c2-8de6aa66f7ae
I had to shoot this quick and then get away because I suffer from vertigo or agro-something... Whatever it is that gives me visions of myself vaulting over the railing.

The Bunny Slope
Actually it's called Chickadee, but you get the idea. That's where we started out on snowboards today instead of skis. (because we're noobs when it comes to snowboards). But we sort of got the hang of it. At least enough that we're gonna do it again tomorrow. Anyway this is sunset on Chickadee as viewed from our room.

It's Snowing!
Well, not complaining here. At all. Really. I mean the worst day skiing is better than the best day working. But so far, We're not really impressed with the Rocky Mountain powder. I mean, we've skied better ice at Crystal. But it's SNOWING!! With a forecast for 6"-15" new snow tomorrow. So we're hopeful.

11,000 ft.
Wow. We went from 88 ft. elevation at home two days ago to two miles up at the top of Snowbird today. Feeling a little loopy up here. Or maybe just we're totally digging it. That's Salt Lake City in the background.

Can I Interest Yeh in a Pint?
Found a great place in Seattle for dinner. Especially if you like micro brews on tap. 160 of them! (well maybe only 159 - they were out of the one Shannon wanted.) But the alternate rocked. Mmmmm!

Droplets
I'm kinda planning to post a photo similar to this one in the next week sometime, only the water will be in little tiny solid flakes. So we'll see if I have any luck.

Reach For the Sky
I've always thought of Ivy mostly in terms of leaves, but it has some little shoots too (or whatever you call these things) that reach out in all directions. And bees love them!
