April 24th - King for a Day

Glamour Weed

OK, this might be a stretch, but I thought maybe I could make a weed look glamourous. Kind of like all this Dandelion's cousins - the beautiful Daffodils, the gorgeous Tulips, the ever popular Rose - all those other popular, beautiful flowers. They get all the breaks. Poor dandelions get poisoned, trampled, yanked out by their roots. Maybe today this one will get a taste of what it's like to be admired for a change. (yeah I'm an old softy - always pullin' for the underdog...)

  1. The definition of a weed is a plant growing in the wrong place. It's a nice shot too with the light coming through the petals. I think you've achieved your goal.

  2. Nice shot - had just left this comment elsewhere "Still trying to figure out why dandelions are so disparaged. They are a bright yellow happy colour and their leaves are gathered by Italians for salads. But we all dutifully try to eradicate them."

  3. Ahh, love the combination of blur and focus - what a tribute to the poor dandelion - like a thistle, it is overlooked as a potential asset to our world! :)

  4. Dandelions are beautiful in a field. I have great memories of making wishes with the seed pods. Now that I have my own home and a lawn though, I cringe at the thought of blowing those seeds around. I have a mother in law who I think judges me by how many dandelions are blooming in my yard. :)
