March 11th - Pompous Grass

Pompous GrassThis is grass that stands about 8 - 10 feet tall. We see it in several of our neighbors' yards where they've done some landscaping and brought in some various shrubs, bushes and grasses. Walking home from the store tonight I noticed the last of the day's sunlight hitting these against the blue sky and thought it looked kinda cool so here it is for you to enjoy.

  1. I love Pampas grass - it is always a great subject, the form , the texture, the movement and this is a nice picture. We had a clump of Pampas in our front garden but had to dig it up last year as it was starting to invade our neighbours... terrible stuff to try and move.

  2. Very structural. I really like the angle and the tension between the stems.

  3. I like that you caught it with the sunlight - the contrast from left-to-right on the three taller subjects looks wonderful.

  4. The size of your garden depends on the vegetable needs and wants of you and your family, what land is available to you, water requirements, and how hard your want to work at it.
A hydroponic garden can be your indoor garden where crops are supported in a neutral medium like gravel, mixed up with an appropriate amount of nutrient solution vital for them.
The problem with sprays is that you are applying them to food you
    plan to eat.
