March 2nd - Night Landing

Night Landing
Two ferries came in tonight, one right after the other. The one on the right in this photo is the Evergreen State. It was the "big" ferry when I first moved here back in '71. Now it's the little ferry doing the inter-island run. The one on the left is a much newer boat called the Sealth. Neither of them is the boat I was on last night for yesterday's photo.

  1. I love the twinkle of the lights. Interesting how the water still has the wake pattern, even at 4 second exposure. Cool.

  2. It looks like you used one of those old 'starlight' filters. I like it. The beauty of Friday Harbor always gives me pause.

  3. Thanks - yeah I love that effect. It's not a starlight filter though, it's just from the small aperture (f/22)

  4. Lovely effect - the "star" and beautiful, warm reflections on the water.

  5. Makes me want to pack up and head for Washington right now! I could visit my brother-in-law in Seattle!! :) Nice shot. It held me.
